Fully free dating sites rock but there are so many fish in the sea nowadays that too much of a good thing can be a challenge.
First of all, I’m married and very happily so. If my special lady is reading this, I am not hyping the old days before I met you. No, actually, you are the best thing that happened in my life but way back when, before I met you, I used to enjoy dating sites, specially the free ones. The one thing I loved about them was the fact that you could basically “shop” for date. I know -many of you won’t like this language or the portrayal but that’s how I looked at it (candidly) back then. You could at a moments notice explore tons of single women in your area and sort them by physical appearance, age, sex, passions, etc….and that in of itself was great. I would send someone a message introducing myself, usually by using an original subject line like “I’m all yours” or “2 reasons why we are going to meet” or my favourite “Do not open this if you wanna meet” yeah I know weird, contradictory but you have no idea how many women would read that message and get back with questions. I invite you to try it.
Anyways, back to our issue. So, yeah, I appreciated those dating sites because you always felt like you had many options but there is one thing I always wished they had and that’s a feature that allowed for members to list what they wanted to do “right now”, this very moment, tonight, this week, etc. What I mean, is that I really wished that the matching could happen based on activities you’d likely do with someone. For example. Let’s say I’m in the mood for a cup of coffee and that someone in my city is interested in a cup of coffee too, that the site hook the both of us up. Because, it’s all good to have tons of potential dates but its better to have potential specific dating activity ideas. A girl might be interested in you for brunch and not for dinner or a movie. You might be interested in someone for a roll in the hay but not want to take her to your friend’s wedding. A woman might be ok with having you as a workout buddy today but not in the future. She might want to go clubbing Friday night but not Sunday. People are specific about what they’d do, when they’d do it, to whom they’d do it to and the online dating sites out there should do the same. Plentyoffish doesn’t have that feature, neither do several of the other dating sites out there. Crazy!
Actually there is a new dating site for city folks that is on the right track and that I highly recommend for people in Canada and the US. Wanna catch a game? Just a few clicks and you can find other sport lovers in your neighborhood. Wanna visit a museum this week end? Ditto! See how amazing this could be if one was actually unattached these days? (ahem, I’m not referring myself – just speaking figuratively).
Take care and hopefully the single life in the city will continue to agree with you.
